Key Comments

Parramatta is based in the heart of Western Sydney, and known as Sydney’s second CBD. The area is undergoing major construction to support this growth. Previously a safe electorate, it is now a marginal Labor seat following the redistribution. Concerns for the area include working class citizens, higher education, tourism, retail, and transport systems. Other issues include crime, unemployment, and illegal substance abuse. Parramatta is home to a variety of ethnic groups and the Darug people.
